L7, the band led by the charismatic Donita Sparks, has earned its key role in the history of rock, especially as an influence in the Riot Grrl movement alongside bands like Bikini Kill, Le Tigre, Sleater-Kinney and The Breeders. Emerging at the end of the 80s, they were also fundamental to keeping punk rock alive in the US, at a time when grunge, which would be the most representative genre of the following decade, was making its appearance.
