Born in California in the mid 60’s, Blue Cheer’s hard rock and stoner rock earned them the title of “the loudest band on the planet.” And many artists, including Eric Clapton, point to them as the founders of heavy metal, and to their version of “Summertime Blues” as the first song of the genre. We wanted their appearance at Azkena Rock Festival in 2008 to be remembered with this star on the Rock Walk.
