Big Star (2006)
Born in Memphis in 1971 and reborn in 1993 with the addition of Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow from The Posies, the band of the sadly departed Alex Chilton has given rock history some of the most beautiful compositions ever heard. Not in vain, the American edition of Rolling Stone placed their first album, #1 Record, among the greatest rock albums of all time. Their most popular song, the beautiful “Thirteen”, was described by the magazine as “one of the most beautiful celebrations of adolescence” and has appeared in countless soundtracks, from Gilmore Girls and How I Met Your Mother, all the way to being used as the closing credits for the legendary series That ‘70s Show.
