BURNING SINCE 2002

Collaborative Book

It seems like only yesterday that the AZKENA ROCK FESTIVAL was born, and it is now in its 20th edition; a place where many of the best rock bands and performers in the history of music have played: Mudhoney, The Cramps, Iggy Pop & The Stooges, Ray Davies, Hellacopters, Dictators, Steve Earlie, The New York Dolls, Flamin’Groovies, Radio Birdman, Deep Purple, The Pogues, Television, Bad Religion, Pearl Jam, Redd Kross, Misfits, DKT/MC5, Rocky Erikson, Sex Pistols, Los Lobos, The Sonics, John Cale, Alice Cooper, The Black Crowes, The Zombies, Kiss, Chris Isaak, The Damned, Ozzy Osbourne, The Cult, Queens of Stone Age, Status Quo, Blue Oyster Cult, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blondie, Scorpions, ZZ Top, The Who, Lucinda Williams, John Fogerty, Van Morrison, Joan Jett, Stray Cats, The B-52s, Brian Wilson, Suzy Quatro, Patty Smith…. and many, many more.

We want to celebrate its 20th Anniversary with you, the real protagonists, with the publication of a collaborative book of literary stories that will record stories with the festival itself as a backdrop.

The stories don’t have to be real, you can invent or mix fact and fiction in a comic plot, a police adventure, and/or a biographical passage, ….. but always around the festival.  The text must have a minimum of 4,000 characters and for the moment only texts in Spanish will be accepted. You can also send illustrations (300 dpi).

We encourage you to send your creations to liburuak@azkenarockfestival.com before 1st March 2023.

The organisation will make a selection of the best stories, which will be published in a tribute book to the festival during the month of June 2023. Those selected will also receive a special 20th Anniversary pack that includes the 2023 3-Day Pass and the book.  The names of the authors of all the stories submitted, regardless of whether or not they are selected, will appear in the credits of the book.
