VIAJE A 800
The heavy and stoner sounds do not have secrets for this band from Cadiz, Spain. Viaje a 800 was formed in 1996, at the beginning as a trio to become a quintet afterwards. In 1998 they record their first rough cut entitled “Santa Águeda” and they become a quartet. In 2001 they release in the label Alone Records their first album “Diablo Roto De…”, an album favourably received where they show their style leaving behind influences such as that from Black Sabbath, Kyuss or Pentagram. The mentioned work was reedited last 2007 with several additional songs. The band takes four years of rest and after that period they start to do sporadic concerts. It was not until 2007 when the band edits their second LP oddly entitled “Estampida De Trombones”, an album where songs with different influences such as punk, stoner, psychedelia and hard rock can be heard. myspace
SORKUN
Sorkun is the alter ego of Sorkunde Rubio, ex vocalist of the punk rock band Kashbad. In 2001 the band split up and he started his solo career reflected in his first album “Onna” where he collaborated with musicians such as Sabih Strubell (guitarist in Anari and Dut) or Fernando Sapo, vocalist in Kuraia. The songs´ texts remind the haikus or Japonese traditional poetry. Between 2003 and 2004 he took part in the Fermín Muguruza Kontrabanda and in 2005 he released his second album “Duna”. This is a work where Sorkun changes its music guidelines: the distortional guitars get aside from their music way and the artist from Orereta-Renteria sends new more minimalist paths. Sorkun’s last news is the release of a new album with the band from Vitoria-Gasteiz Vice Presidentes. Recorded in the US this album gathers in its songs the Californian dessert ambient and the stoner-hard rocker dense sound characteristic of the band. www.sorkun.org

TRULY
In 1989 before the musical explosion that took place in Seattle with the so-called grunge, guitarist and vocalist Robert Roth and drummer Mark Pickerel, one of the founders of Screaming Trees, join together for a new psycodelic rock project called Truly. The chemistry between both of them is excellent and they record in 1990 a four songs EP composed by Robert. In 1991 they invite bassist Hiro Yamamoto (Soundgarden) to join the band and that same year this trio releases their first EP. Four years later, they do the same with the debut LP entitled “Fast Stories From Kid Coma” which gets excellent specialized press reviews. In 1998 they edit a second album “Feeling You Up” and in 2000 a British label, Cargo Records, launches a rarity album entitled “Twilight Courtains”. This year, Robert, Mark and Hiro keep working on new songs with the aim of recording an album.

At the mid 80’s they come back to the scene and in 1989 they release their first live album entitled “Blitzkrieg Over Nuremberg”. In 1990 a new studio album comes out with the name “Highlights & Low Lives”. This a record based in the hard rock-blues and was followed by the heavier “Dining With The Sharks” in 1991. HANOI ROCKS
1979 was the starting point of this Finish band formed by Andy McCoy and Nasty Suicide in the guitars, Michael Monroe in the voice and saxophone, Sami Yaffa in the bass and Gyp Casino in the drums, that was soon substituted by Razzle. All of them created a glamorous rock and roll machine that, if it has not got already a massive success, it has been and it is a band that other more successful groups, have recognized as influential. One of the critical moments of the band was, without any doubt, the death in an accident of Razzle. The car was driven by Mötley Crüe´s Vince Neil. After this fatal end, the band split up in 1985. In 2002 McCoy and Monroe take the leading of the group with new components as the ex Electric Boys’ Conny Bloom. “Street Poetry” in 2007 is their last album and the incorporation of a new bassist, Jolle, the main novelty of the band this year. www.hanoirocks.com

In 1963 the band is consolidated with the singer Gerry Rolie, the drummer Bob Bennet and the saxophonist Rob Lind and the history of the garage and punk’ s godparents starts. The Wailers’ bassist selects them for his label Etiquette Records and they record their first singles “The Witch” and “Psycho”, getting an incredible success with dirty and saturated guitars. The first LP “Here Are The Sonic” arrives in 1965 and the same year they record “Merry Christmas”. In 1966 they release “Sonics Boom” and a bit after they work for Jerden Records and record “Introducing The Sonics” (1966), an album that did not convince the band for its too clean sound. Little by little the members of the band started to leave the group until the band’s split up. More than forty years after, The Sonics, the creators of a sound style, they come back to the stages with three of their original members, Gerry Loslie, Larry Parypa and Rob Lind. Last year, it was reedited the live album “Busy Body!!! Live In Tacoma 1964”. myspace.com

BLIND MELON
This band was born in 1989 with Shannon Hoon as the leader and icon of the group. His appearance in Guns N Roses “Don´t Cry” video clip encouraged him to edit their first homonym album which gathered a great success thanks to the support of the single and video clip of “No Rain”. Does anyone not remember the shocking image of the bee-girl? Three years later, the band releases their second album “Soup” an album with certain inclination for and pop sound. Unfortunately, in 1995 Hoon appears death in the tour’s bus as his constant problems with drugs put end to his life. His colleagues edit “Nico” a posthumous album of rarities, inedit songs and version named as Hoon’s daughter. The band splits up in 1996 after a short try together. In 2006 the reunion of the band was announced with Travis Warren as the new singer. Some new songs and live performances have been the aperitif until the release of the album “For My Friends” last April 22nd. www.blindmelon.com
THE QUIREBOYS
Joined together in 1984, it was not until 1990 and after several changes in the band when they release one of the most polemical albums at the beginning of the 90’s, the genial “A Bit Of What You Fancy”. This very classical rock and roll album was influenced by bands such as Humble Pie, the Stones and The Faces, and from great musicians such as David Coverdale from Whitesnake, Aerosmith or the Stones said great things about this work. The album allowed them to play in the famous Monsters Of Rock Festival de Donington and as the support of the band lead by Jagger and Richards. In 1993 they release their second album “Bitter Sweet & Twisted”, a launch that soon disappeared when the grunge burst into the scene. In 2002 a new formation always lead by Spike released their third album “This Is Rock N Roll”, with allowed them to gather again all their fans and get the critic’s applause. The same line was followed by the next “Well Oiled” in 2004 and with their recent “Homewreckers & Heartbreakers” they have demonstrated once more that the purest rock and roll does not have any secret for them. www.quireboys.com
