AZKENA ROCK FESTIVAL 2007

2007 becomes a transition year where the festival organization claims more support from the regional institutions in order to be able to maintain the festival at Vitoria-Gasteiz. The festival reduces its ambitions and forms a quality line-up but with no so massive bands as the previous years’. Headliners are DKT/MC5 who come back to the festival three years later and Tool. Also outstanding are bands like Hoodoo Gurus, The Mooney Suzuki, Diamond Dogs, Heavy Trash, Roky Erickson and The Answer. After big editions the line-up is again a bit smaller, with less prestigious bands and the venue seems to be bigger. The faithful fans of the festival end saving this edition with a good level of audience. Tool turned out to be a controversial addition for the traditional audience becoming a somehow inappropriate headliner stylistically speaking, mostly because of the shaping of the rest of the line-up was far to their more progressive and/or heavy style despite the fact they gathered many fans.
