AZKENA ROCK FESTIVAL 2006

2006 is the year when the Azkena makes a great change in terms of the audience volume (44,093 people in 3 days). Pearl Jam becomes the most massive headliner the festival had not got until then. The legendary band from Seattle offers also an unforgettable concert full of emotions in an absolute communion with the audience from Vitoria. The line-up shows a great balance with big names, very good underground bands and new promises: Iggy & The Stooges and the New York Dolls repeat as the headliners, classic bands like Big Star, Gang of Four or Redd Kross leave and Wolfmother, Marah or My Morning Jacket become up and coming bands for the future. For the first time the venue seems to be too small although the organization (both internally and in relation with the audience) is really controlled. This is another great edition that leaves a pleasant memory both for the audience and the staff.
