AZKENA ROCK FESTIVAL 2004

In 2004 the bet for the rock & roll experiments a new chapter with performances by New York Dolls, Roger McGuinn (The Byrds), Screamin’ Cheetah Wheelies, Ryan Adams, Flamin’ Groovies, Violent Femmes, Turbonegro, Urge Overkill, Fun Lovin’ Criminals or DKT/MC5. In spite of the terrible downpour fallen over the Mendizabala venue and the flooding caused by them, the festival goes ahead acting fast and moving the performances to one of the tents. The audience and the bands themshelves show an exemplary behaviour and they create that special atmosphere the Azkena Rock still has. Although some bands cancel their concert only some days before the beginning of the festival, looking back this edition is still remembered today as one of the best ones in terms of quality by all the festival fans.
