AZKENA ROCK FESTIVAL 2003

In 2003 the festival moves to the Mendizabala venue and generates a dramatic effect by gathering some legendary artists like Iggy Pop & The Stooges, Ray Davies (The Kinks), The Cramps, Steve Earle, Cracker, Hermano or Jayhawks. In only two years the Azkena Rock is consolidated as the rock festival par excellence in Spain. Also, Iggy & The Stooges’ first performance in Europe make many people from other countries come to Vitoria. This is the first time the LTI organizes such a big festival (with market, camping area, food…) and the organization is not as good as we would have liked it to be despite the wise move of having such a new thing back then as 2 stages facing each other and the fact the venue is perfect for an event like this one. To be our “first time” it isn’t that bad…
